Sunshine City Ikebukuro is located on land formerly occupied by the infamous Sugamo Prison, which held political prisoners in the 1930s and 1940s. Sunshine City was completed in 1978 and consists of four buildings forming "a city within a city" complete with an observation deck, aquarium, theater, planetarium, hotel and shopping mall. The centerpiece of the development is the 240 meter tall Sunshine 60 skyscraper. © JapanVisitor.com Yahoo Japan Auction Service Japanese Friends Tokyo Apartments Search Japan Job Search Rough Guide To Japan Tags Ikebukuro Tokyo Sunshine City Japanese Skyscrapers More... |
