Set off southwest to Lake Mburo National park. En-route; stopover at the Equator and participate in the water experiment and get to know changes in your body weight. Carryon and take on zebra trail for the game drive in Lake Mburo national park. Expect to see Zebras, kobs, impalas, waterbucks, topi, baboons and many more wildlife species. Visit the salt lake enroute to Mbarara town for lunch at the Agip Motel (one hour lunch break). Continue and travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Go past the glamorous Bunyaruguru escarpments overlooking the Great Eastern Rift Valley. Descend to Queen Elizabeth National Park, unfolding a stunning panoramic view of Lakes Edward and George while keeping an eye in the game filled plains. Dinner & Overnight: Mweya Safari Lodge (FB).Day 2: Early in the morning, take an excursion to Kyambura gorge and arrive in time for 0830 chimpanzee tracking activity. Chimpanzees are man’s closest relations. Tracking takes 2-3 hours but is an exciting activity. (One hour lunch break at the viewing platform). Carry on; arrive at Mweya in time for a launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Expect to see hippos, possibly the highest hippo concentration in Africa, elephants, buffalos and abundant brilliantly waterside bird life providing an excellent platform for photography and game viewing. Don’t miss herds of buffaloes trundle to the water for a drink on the eastern bank of the channel. Cruise time; 2-3hrs. Dinner & Overnight: Mweya Safari Lodge (FB).Day 3: At 6:00am take an excursion to Kasenyi area for a game drive. Known as the kob mating grounds, Kasenyi offers great chances of sporting the lions. The area has great scenery and diverse physical landforms. Expect to see large herds of kobs, buffaloes and elephants in the sector. Carry packed lunch. Go for a game drive in the northern crater area. A place full of dark lakes and rich grasslands set deep into volcanic craters. The baboon cliff is a stunning view point where the landscape drops dramatically and one feels perched on the edge of the World. Expect to see a variety of flora and fauna most especially kobs, lions, elephants and many more. In the afternoon, get going on the journey back to Kampala via Mbarara. Make a stopover at the Mpambire drum village a chance to buy yourself a locally made drum.
